On3 introduced a new category in recruiting rankings last week. The new category has to do with the average NIL value of each school’s full class. Auburn is one of the top schools with an average NIL value of 28k.

This average takes each commit and signee in the class and averages their combined estimated NIL value. This NIL value is based on their social media presence as well as their recruiting ranking and how much they are talked about.

NIL is a new tool in recruiting. It looks as though it is here to stay. Colleges are now able to indirectly use this as a recruiting tool. Young players coming out of high school are now aware of their NIL value. They will want to go to schools that can help them raise that value. As of right now, Auburn’s 2022 class is proving to be doing well in this new category.

Auburn’s 2022 class holds a higher average NIL value than some recruiting rivals

Not only has Auburn’s class recently jumped to the 16th spot in the On3 consensus recruiting rankings for 2022, they have also jumped two recruiting rivals in Florida State and LSU. Auburn still has a few spots to fill with only 17 total signees and no current commits.

The newly released NIL value shows Auburn having a 28k average value. Some of the top recruits for Auburn in this category include QB Holden Geriner (49k value), RB Damari Alston (41k value), TE Micah Riley-Ducker (30k value), LB Powell Gordon (29k value), and DB Austin Ausberry (24k value). In fact, Geriner and Alston both rank in the top-100 of the entire 2022 class for NIL.

Auburn’s average of 28k is currently the same or higher than schools such as Georgia (28k), Notre Dame (16k), Oklahoma (27k), Michigan (27k), North Carolina (21k), Miami (23k), Missouri (20k), Kentucky (21k), LSU (26k), and Tennessee (24k). All of these schools are currently ranked higher in the overall class rankings, but have a lower average NIL value than Auburn.
