Auburn opens as underdog, faces biggest point spread against Ole Miss in last ten years

Following two SEC losses in a row at the hands of LSU and Georgia, Auburn will now go into Oxford, Miss. as a 13.5 point underdog against Ole Miss. This marks only the fourth time in the last ten years that Auburn has not been favored to win against the Rebels.

The first line by vegasinsider.com shows that Ole Miss is favored by 13.5 points. Others have yet to release a line, but Ole Miss is surely the favorite. This is the second highest point spread in the series since Auburn was favored by 17.5 in 2019.

Auburn is currently averaging 20 points per game while Ole Miss is averaging just under 40 points per game. Therefore, 13.5 points seems to be giving Auburn a few more points than the averages tell.

Ole Miss was a two-point favorite in the 2014 top-ten matchup. Auburn went on to win with a Laquon Treadwell fumble at the goal line in Oxford, Miss.
