Auburn's Jeremiah Wright is 'in the right position' at left guard
AUBURN- Jeremiah Wright came to Auburn as a defensive lineman. Then he moved to offensive line. Then back to defensive line. Now, he’s back on the O-Line and finally making an impact.
Against Ole Miss, Wright had his first start at left guard and it’s clear he’s where he’s supposed to be.
“He’s in the right position now,” Bryan Harsin said during his Monday afternoon press conference. “He knows that and sees that. There’s no doubt in our mind. He’s a guard and he’s going to be a good player. Now we have to build on that this week.”

The 6’5″, 335 pound left guard made an instant impact on the offensive side of the ball in multiple ways. Auburn had a season-high of 301 rushing yards on 48 attempts against Ole Miss and Wright’s run blocking grade was the second-best run blocking grade for any offensive lineman this season, according to Pro Football Focus.
The only thing that Jeremiah Wright is missing is playing time and experience and that will continue to come as the season progresses. Harsin, along with multiple players, spoke on his energy and toughness during Monday’s press conference.
“He’s a really big guy and he’s really powerful,” captain John Samuel Shenker said on Monday. “I’m happy to see him out there getting his experience… He’s a tough guy. He’s had some injuries, so he’s had to fight back from those, but I feel like he’s done really well so far.”
Since he has competed with Auburn players on both side of the ball, Wright is able to add another layer of competitiveness during practice as well. Derick Hall talked about the fact that they can “jaw at each other” because it goes both ways. Whenever one wins a rep, the other knows it’s coming.
“He’s just a dog, man,” senior Owen Pappoe said. “He talks trash, too, so he makes you want to be on your best game. He’s just a competitor, a nasty O-lineman and real physical. I think he brings a lot of energy to the O-line, he makes those guys play better.”
