Bryan Harsin responds to job rumors entering Auburn's bye week

AUBURN- To kick off the bye week, Auburn head coach Bryan Harsin travelled for a few media appearances during the Tigers’ off day on Monday.
Harsin’s mini roadtrip started in Birmingham at the Quarterback Club. The purpose of this organization is to “support children’s medical needs through the club’s charitable arm, Quarterbacking Children’s Health Foundation.” After Birmingham, Harsin travelled to Mobile, where he spoke at the Mike Gottfried’s 1st and 10 Club.
Coming off a loss to the No. 9 ranked Ole Miss, the questions that Harsin was asked mainly revolved around the previous game, the growth of (or lack of) his football team and the future of his career on the Plains.
Harsin’s response to job status questions:
One of the hottest topics around the Auburn football program right now is Bryan Harsin’s future on the Plains. It is just about everywhere you look and everyone has their own opinions on how to handle this situation.

Harsin was asked in Birmingham how he blocks out the chatter and continues to do his job when it is “everywhere you look.”
“It’s not everywhere I look, that’s number one,” Harsin said in response. “That’s not where I go. I’ve said it before, it doesn’t matter where I’ve been and what I’ve done. I always focus on the job I have to do. Control the controllable. I learned that a long time ago. That’s just something that I’m very grateful for that I learned that as a young coach. Focus on the task at hand and have the discipline to do that.”
Later on, Harsin was asked if he had spoken to the Auburn president or any other trustees about his job status. It was clear that he was starting to get fed up with the questions revolving this topic, because his answer was much shorter and basically a “no.”
“Yeah, I’ve answered it several times,” Harsin said. “Same thing, just focus on the stuff we have to do and the task at hand. That’s always going to be our focus and continues to be fore our staff and every player, too.”
