Former Auburn linebacker Karlos Dansby inducted to Alabama Sports Hall of Fame

Karlos Dansby, Auburn linebacker from 2000 to 2003, has been inducted into the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame.
Dansby was elected Monday to the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame Class of 2023. He was also named SEC Football legend in 2019.

He was a 6-foot-4 200 pound wide receiver recruit from Woodlawn High in Birmingham, Ala. He spent his freshman season as a receiver for the Tigers before switching to the defensive side of the ball. Before becoming a linebacker, Dansby spent some time in the secondary as a safety.
In three seasons as a starter/signifcant player on defense, Dansby recorded 225 tackles, 32.5 tackles for loss, and 10.5 sacks. When he moved to linebacker as a senior in 2003, Dansby had 84 tackles, 13 tackles for loss, 5.5 sacks, and 4 forced fumbles.

He was named an All-American during his senior season.
Dansby in the NFL
Dansby was drafted 33rd overall by the Arizona Cardinals in the 2004 NFL Draft. With the Cardinals, Dansby had 776 tackles, 77 tackles for loss, and 33 sacks.
He would go on to have a 14-year NFL career playing for the Miami Dolphins, Cleveland Browns, and Cincinnati Bengals as well as the Cardinals.
Dansby will be joined by former Alabama and New Orleans Saints safety Roman Harper from Prattville, Ala., former UAB and Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Roddy White from Charleston, SC., and former Alabama and Charlotte Bobcats shooting guard Gerald Wallace from Childersburg, Ala.
