Former Auburn tight end Sal Cannella gets another shot at NFL

Former Auburn and All-USFL tight end Sal Cannella will get another shot at the NFL. According to JUCO Football Frenzy on Twitter, Cannella is expected to sign with the Cleveland Browns.

An under-recruited high school prospect, Cannella attended Scottsdale C.C., where he earned first-team all conference honors and was ranked the number one junior college tight end by ESPN. From there Cannella signed with the Auburn Tigers, where he played in 37 games for the Tigers with 25 catches, 330 yards, and five touchdowns.

Cannella went undrafted and unsigned in 2020, but was selected in the 34th round of the USFL draft. He made the most of his circumstance getting several opportunities to play in the NFL. Cannella has been signed to the Green Bay Packers, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and to the Seattle Seahawks, with none of those opportunies turning into a permanent moves. Cannella will now give it another shot.
