COMMITMENT: Former Michigan signee Bear McWhorter commits to Auburn
Auburn has added another high school offensive lineman to its 2026 signing class.
Bear McWhorter, an interior offensive lineman from Cass High School in Cartersville, Ga., will enroll at Auburn for the spring semester. McWhorter announced his decision Monday night on social media.
McWhorter signed with Michigan during the early signing period, but requested and was granted a release after Sheronne Moore was fired. He committed to the Wolverines in February over Alabama, Clemson, Florida and South Carolina.

McWhorter is no stranger to Auburn. He visited campus as an underclassmen and has family in nearby Opelika. McWhorter’s former high school teammate, Kail Ellis, will be sophomore at Auburn in 2026. He also has a prior relationship with new Auburn coach Alex Golesh and offensive line coach Tyler Hudanick. Golesh and Hudanick offered and recruiter McWhorter while at USF.
McWhorter is the 19th member of Auburn’s 2026 class and fifth offensive lineman, joining Wilson Zierer, Parker Pritchett, Mykall Lundy-Foster and Mason Mathis.
