Is Auburn's Cam Coleman being overlooked?

With all the attention on transfer additions Jackson Arnold and Eric Singleton Jr., is it possible that Cam Coleman is being overlooked?
On3 Sports’ college football analyst Ari Wasserman thinks so.
Wasserman recently wrote:
“All of the things written about Wingo remain true about Coleman as it pertains to being lost in the shuffle behind Smith and Williams. But Coleman, a five-star prospect in the 2025 class, is also a freak. He existed in an Auburn offense last year that lacked a competent quarterback and still amassed 37 catches for 598 yards and 8 touchdowns. We’re talking about a player who may be a first round draft pick, but he’s lost in the conversation. Auburn may be sneaky good this year and Coleman will be a large reason for that if it happens.”
Coleman’s last three games of his freshman season were really, really good. Against Louisiana-Monroe, Texas A&M and Alabama, Coleman racked up 22 catches for 306 yards and six touchdowns.
That’s a massive chunk of Coleman’s production that occurred in the final quarter of the season. Will Coleman carry that momentum into 2025?
There’s no reason to think he won’t.
The former 5-star is already receiving first-round projections for 2027. And paired with Singleton Jr., who is receiving first-round projections for 2026, and rising star Malcolm Simmons, there should be legitimate opportunities on a consistent basis for Coleman to shine.

Position coach Marcus Davis is looking forward to Coleman starting to put it all together in year two.
“Continue to clean those up,” Davis said of Coleman’s route running, overall development. “He’s so long, keeping his pad level down. He has twitch, he has all the things you need. When to use those tools is the next step for him. Football is important to him and it’s been fun to see him progressing on those things. It’s been exciting for sure.”
