Live Updates: Daquayvious Sorey Commitment Ceremony

Four-star receiver Daquayvious Sorey of Chipley (Fla.), one of the top remaining uncommitted 2023 offensive targets on the Auburn recruiting board, is ready to make his college commitment.

He has a final group of Auburn, Alabama, Florida and Miami.

Sorey will announce his college choice around Noon p.m. CT Friday in a ceremony at his school.

Sorey, who is 6-foot-2, 185 pounds, is the No. 35 receiver recruit in the country for the On3 Consensus. He checks in as the No. 53 prospect in the state of Florida and is No. 265 nationally. Sorey holds a 90.66 On3 Consensus rating.

At 11 a.m. CT, Auburn is the heavy favorite to land Sorey, according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM). The Tigers sit at 98.5% on the RPM, while Florida is second at around 1%.

10:55 a.m.: We’re still working on getting you an exact time for Sorey’s announcement. We just know it will be right around noon.

10:57 a.m.: The folks at Chipley High believe Sorey will arrive at the school gym around 11:45.

11:03 a.m.: One of Chipley’s assistant football coaches there today is an Auburn grad and a huge Tigers fan. As you can imagine, he’s pretty pumped right now.

11:04 a.m.: All of Sorey’s coaches and teammates are calling him “Quavo.” We don’t have the backstory yet on that nickname but will try to find out ow he got it.

11:15 a.m: Sorey is related to former Florida running back great Neal Anderson.

11:23 a.m.: Chipley’s head coach tells Cole he thinks Sorey’s speed is underrated. Sees him as a big guy but thinks his speed is a major asset.

11:36 a.m.: Students and Sorey’s Chipley teammates/coaches are arriving at the gym for the ceremony.

11:39 a.m.: Hats on the table: Auburn, Alabama, Florida, Miami … The coach told Cole it cost him over $100 to buy the four hats.

11:42 a.m.: Sorey’s teammates are hanging out around the booth he will announcing from.

11:43 a.m.: Noon CT is the EXPECTED official announcement time.

11:52 a.m.: The coach is close friends with Auburn WR coach Ike Hilliard.

11:56 a.m.: Final preparations being made. Should be starting any minute. Most here think it’ll be Auburn.

12:03 p.m.: Should be starting any minute. They were waiting on Sorey’s dad. He just arrived.

12:08 p.m.: Okay, the ceremony is starting.

12:12 p.m. CT: 4-star WR Daquayvious Sorey of Chipley (Fla.) has committed to Auburn.
