Sumrall betting favorite to be Auburn’s next coach

AUBURN | Jon Sumrall has emerged as the betting favorite to become Auburn’s next head football coach.

The current Tulane coach is listed as -150 odds to replace Hugh Freeze according to Bet Online. Freeze was fired Nov. 2 after a 10-3 loss to Kentucky to finish is AU career 15-19 overall and 6-16 in the SEC.

Behind Sumrall, Bet Online lists current Auburn interim coach DJ Durkin at +300, former Penn State coach James Franklin +500, Louisville coach Jeff Brohm +700 and Arizona State coach Kenny Dillingham +900.

The initial odds, which came out Nov. 3 had Dillingham as the favorite followed by Sumrall, Franklin, Georgia Tech coach Brent Key and former Texas A&M coach Jimbo Fisher.

Moneyline odds are based on $100 bets. You have to bet $150 on a -150 favorite to win $100. If you bet $100 on a +300 underdog, you win $300.
