Thompson inks six-year deal

AUBURN | Butch Thompson will be guiding Auburn’s baseball program for many years to come.
Thompson signed a new six-year deal with Auburn that will pay him a base of $1.5 million, a source confirmed to AuburnSports. The news was first reported by Kendall Rogers of D1 Baseball.
The deal also includes raises for Thompson’s staff and two one-year rollover clauses that can extend his contract until 2033.

In 10 seasons as head coach, Thompson has led the Tigers to 324 wins, two College World Series appearances, four NCAA Super Regionals and six NCAA Tournament appearances.
He’s had 49 players drafted in his Auburn tenure, including 25 in the top 10 rounds and nine in the top three rounds.
