VIDEO: Hugh Freeze Press Conference

Hugh Freeze is ready for Georgia.
The Auburn coach said Monday that the Tigers spent last week working through two tasks — scouting themselves at the play-calling level and getting prepared for the Bulldogs. The visitors from Athens have won eight consecutive encounters against Auburn and one more win would equal the longest streak in this series’ storied history.
Ending that skid is Freeze’s top priority.
Making that happen, however, is easier said that done. Freeze acknowledged Monday that quarterback Jackson Arnold must be more willing to take risks in the passing game. The Oklahoma transfer, Freeze said, is comfortable throwing toward his first or second reads. Anything beyond that often yields indecision, which too often has turned into sacks or fruitless scrambles.
Freeze said he’s been in meetings with Arnold, offensive coordinator Derrick Nix, quarterbacks coach Kent Austin and assistant quarterbacks coach Jesse Stone to get Arnold more willing to take some chances.
Will that be enough to kick start the Tigers’ offense Saturday night? We shall see.
