According to Rivals’ Hayes Fawcett, Cottondale (Fla.) 4-star athlete Tramond Collins has de-committed from the Florida Gators. He was Florida’s lone commitment for the 2027 cycle.

Collins, a versatile athlete capable of playing either sides of the ball, committed to the Gators in June as a wide revceiver. He has drawn interest from several SEC programs and other top schools nationwide. His decision to reopen his recruitment comes early in the process, giving him time to carefully evaluate his options before making a final choice.

While his de-commitment is notable, it is not a huge blow for Florida given how early it is in the cycle. With the program fresh off a coaching transition, Sumrall and his staff are poised to make a big impact this offseason, emphasizing player development, early playing opportunities and a culture that appeals to top recruits.

Florida’s strong presence in the state and the Southeast should continue to provide a solid foundation for building the 2027 class. Early de-commitments like Collins’ are fairly common, especially when a new coaching staff takes over. We will see if the Gators pursue Collins moving forward.

Collins, 6-foot-2, 185 pounds, is the No. 6 athlete and No. 105 prospect overall in the Rivals rankings. He is also a top-10 junior in the talent-loaded state of Florida.
