BREAKING: On300 RB Kahnen Daniels commits to Florida Gators

The University of Florida continues to trend up at the running back position, as four-star running back Kahnen Daniels committed to the Gators moments ago.
A product of West Point (Miss.) High, Daniels is the second running back in the class and sixth commitment overall. Fellow On300 running back, Chauncey Bowens, is teamed up with UF as well.
Daniels first visited the Gators on March 11 and landed an offer while on campus. It was just several days later when UF started generating plenty of buzz and emerged as a realistic landing spot. Daniels was then in town for last week’s scrimmage and is returning for Thursday’s Orange and Blue Game.
Now, the four-star prospect is officially on board with Billy Napier’s vision at the Swamp. It took just roughly a month for the Gators to seal the deal with Daniels.
“Florida was different. I can’t really say who I picked them over,” Daniels told On3’s Chad Simmons. “When I visited Florida the first time, I felt something different.
“We all had that same feeling. I knew after the first visit how I felt. I had let coach Jabbar Juluke know. After my family saw was I saw, felt the great hospitality and met the coaches, they gave me the go.
“I met with coach Juluke before we left and told him about my decision. On Sunday, I talked to coach Napier and told him too. Florida is the best school for me and I am excited about my decision.”
Jabbar Juluke moved the needle on behalf of the Gators
Yesterday, I submitted an On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine pick for the Gators. Numerous sources told me they were positioned best at the time and that Daniels was expected in the class sooner than later.

Much of that early buzz can be credited to the outstanding job of recruiting done by running backs coach Jabbar Juluke. Daniels sees the opportunity to flourish in Gainesville, but it’s more than football that has that relationship clicking on all cylinders.
“I really like how coach Juluke really talks about me being a better person outside of football if I go there,” Daniels told GO last week. “He likes how I’m a very tough running back. They are going to be running three running backs this year, so I could work my way up to a starting job or into the rotation.
“He’s basically been telling me I will have a chance to play, but that’s not the only thing. It’s also about life after football and stuff like that.”
Daniels, who boasts a 3.3 GPA, finished the 2022 season with 203 carries for 2,032 yards and 24 touchdowns. He currently ranks as the No. 20 running back and No. 280 prospect overall with On3.
Largo (Fla.) linebacker Adarius Hayes, Willis (Texas) quarterback DJ Lagway, Atlanta (Ga.) Woodward Academy linebacker Myles Graham, North Palm Beach (Fla.) The Benjamin School running back Chauncey Bowens and Nashville (Ga.) Berrien safety Josiah Davis are the additional prospects in UF’s class.
