No. 10 Florida won its third consecutive game Sunday and second straight over a rival with an 82-68 victory over Miami in Jacksonville. The Gators had four players in double figures and their best 3-point shooting performance (9-for-29) of the young season.
Here’s everything Florida coach Todd Golden said after the win in his postgame interview with Sean Kelley.

Todd Golden Q&A
On Florida’s performance against the Hurricanes:
TODD GOLDEN: “I thought we fought through a lot of adversity, obviously, with Micah (Handlogten), getting banged up in the first half, not having him out there for the whole second half was an issue, and then, obviously, losing Rueben [Chinyelu] and [Alex] Condo, you know, to getting fouled out with a lot of time left in the game. So we had to play some unique lineups down the stretch, you know, put guys in positions that they are not used to, but I thought we did a really good job of stepping up. I thought Zay Brown gave us some really good minutes off the bench, playing a great role. Urby, obviously had a great night. Really good shooting the basketball. You know, Tommy [Haugh] was fantastic, and I thought Rueben and Condo, you know, in the minutes that we had them, were absolutely fantastic. I think Rueben had a double-double. I think Condo was close. And you know, that type of effort we need out of our frontcourt against a good front court like Miami.”
On if he has been waiting for a game like this from Urban Klavzar:
TODD GOLDEN: “Absolutely, you know, we’ve seen it from him before, I thought he’d played great for us down the stretch last year. He was fantastic in the exhibitions this year, and, you know, obviously he’s gotten off to a slow start prior to this game, and, you know, he’s a guy that we’re relying upon. We expect him to have a good year for us, and expect him to be able to provide some shot-making, you know, in a tough game like this, and I’m really happy for him, and obviously, you know, proud of him and happy for us, you know, that he stepped up and made some big shots tonight.”

On withstanding Miami’s run to start the second half:
TODD GOLDEN: “Again, you know, I thought early on we did a poor job of taking care of the basketball. We could have put them in a bad spot early, but, and credit to them, they’re a uniquely difficult defensive team in terms of the way they can, you know, play the ball that we gave them some chances in the first half, and you know, even though we’re up 9 or 10 at half, you know, I thought we should have been up more. But again, we did a good job down the stretch taking care of it, and you know, credit to our small lineup, they did a really good job rebounding down the stretch and kind of holding them off.”
On a little breather for the team with five days off:
TODD GOLDEN: “Definitely a breather, we need it. We’ve had a really tough stretch here with three really good teams in our first four games. We’re a little banged up, and I think these next couple of days will provide us the opportunity to get healthy, and we’re excited, you know, excited to get back and get a couple of good practices under our belt before Merrimack.”
