Florida DB Teddy Foster to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal
The Florida Gators’ run of current players announcing their intentions to enter the NCAA Transfer portal continues. The latest name planning to enter their name into the portal once it opens on Jan. 2 is redshirt freshman cornerback Teddy Foster. Rivals’ Hayes Fawcett was the first to report the news of Mizell’s intentions to transfer.
Teddy Foster saw game action, but his snaps were limited
If he sticks with his plans to enter the portal next month, Florida defensive back Teddy Foster would leave Gainesville with 14 game appearances, but zero starts. In his two seasons with the Orange and Blue, Foster has accounted for 6 total tackles in his collegiate career. His snaps on defense are limited, and of Foster’s 14 appearances, 10 of them were on special teams.
In Foster’s more recent season at UF, he played in 9 games and finished the 2025 campaign with 2 tackles.
Teddy Foster was and 3-star prospect in the 2024 recruiting cycle. He was ranked as the No. 674 overall prospect, No. 69 cornerback, and the No. 85-ranked player in the state of Florida. That is according to the Rivals Industry Ranking, a weighted algorithm that compiles all major recruiting media services. He arrived at UF after playing high school football for Sarasota (Fla.) Cardinal Mooney. Foster’s recruitment didn’t take off until the spring ahead of his senior year. It was during that time that former UF assistant Corey Raymond extended an offer.
Teddy Foster is the seventh Florida Gator scholarship player to announce their intentions to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal this week. Other names with plans to move on from the program include sophomore quarterback DJ Lagway, redshirt freshman running back KD Daniels, redshirt freshman tight end Amir Jackson, redshirt freshman safety Josiah Davis, redshirt sophomore wide receiver Aidan Mizell, and junior safety Jordan Castell. True freshman walk-on wide receiver Mike Peterson Jr. also plans to enter the portal.
