Florida defensive lineman Jalen Lee enters transfer portal

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Florida sophomore defensive tackle Jalen Lee has entered the transfer portal. The Live Oak native spent three years at the University of Florida mainly as a role player and special teams contributor.

Lee saw the most playing time of his career during the 2022 season. He saw action in all 12 games, including three starts at nose tackle. Lee totaled eight assisted tackles and 0.5 tackles for loss, though he didn’t play a large number of snaps as Chris McClellan and Desmond Watson emerged at the position.

In 2021, Lee played in eight games with his first career start vs. UCF in the Gasparilla Bowl. He totaled three tackles (two solo) and a TFL against the Knights. He notched two assisted tackles including a TFL for a three-yard loss against Florida State. Lee also made tackles assisted against Samford, South Carolina and No. 1 Georgia.
As a freshman in 2020, Lee played in five games, tallying two tackles, a sack and a forced fumble. He registered a sack and a forced fumble in the game in his collegiate debut vs. Missouri. Lee also saw action in the Cotton Bowl vs. Oklahoma.
