The Florida Gators issued an updated injury report on Thursday, along with Texas. It’s the second of four injury reports that will be released before the Gators (1-3) face the No. 9 Longhorns (3-1) on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. on ESPN.

After listing six players as ‘out’ on Wednesday ahead of this upcoming game, a seventh was added to the updated report on Thursday. Florida Gators freshman defensive lineman Joseph Mbatchou is the latest injured Gator player. Florida’s depth along the defensive front has been tested due to a string of injuries in recent games, which caused Mbatchou to see an uptick in snaps in UF’s last two games. Matchou has logged a total of 36 snaps in losses to LSU and Miami. His season high came in a loss against the Hurricanes, where he logged 27 snaps and recorded the first two tackles of his college career.

UF senior running back Ja’Kobi Jackson was ruled out on Wednesday, and that remains the same on Thursday. He’s the team’s second-leading rusher this season with 108 yards on 27 carries.

The Gators did get good news on the injury front this week, and have welcomed back multiple players who were out in recent weeks. The most notable being freshman wide receiver Dallas Wilson, who is expected make his UF debut against Texas after being sidelined since early in camp.

Sophomore defensive lineman Michai Boireau, redshirt senior EDGE George Gumbs Jr., and redshirt sophomore receiver Aidan Mizell have all returned after missing the Miami game (Boireau was also out at LSU). Redshirt sophomore defensive lineman Brendan Bett and redshirt senior wide receiver J.Michael Sturdivant are also available after leaving the Miami game with injuries.

Redshirt sophomore defensive back Aaron Gates, junior cornerback Dijon Johnson, redshirt senior defensive lineman Caleb Banks, sophomore EDGE LJ McCray, and redshirt sophomore running back Treyaun Webb (hamstring) also remain listed as out.

The Longhorns still have six players on their availability report, but no one has been ruled out. Defensive back Malik Muhammad is listed as questionable after being listed as probable on Wednesday. Furthermore, WR Emmett Mosley, RB Tre Wisner, and DB Kobe Black are now listed as probable after previously being listed as questionable.
