Florida Gators basketball NCAA Tournament projections

The Florida Gators basketball team is now 20-9 following Saturday’s road loss to No. 18 South Carolina, a defeat that certainly stung because they had a double-digit second-half lead. Nonetheless, every major projection still has Florida solidly in the field of the upcoming NCAA Tournament.

Now, the Gators have another big game ahead.

Florida, currently ranked No. 24, plays host to No. 14 Alabama on Tuesday. (New rankings come out Monday)

For Florida, that’s another Quad 1 game — and those are the ones the selection committee most closely watches.

Per Sportskeeda, this is what qualifies as a Quad 1 victory: “A win at home against teams ranked 1-30, win at a neutral venue against teams in the Top 50 and an away win against teams in the Top 75.”
