GAINESVILLE, Fla. — The Florida Gators earned their 17th-consecutive NCAA Tournament berth Monday as the No. 2 seed in the Conway Regional, as announced by the NCAA Selection Committee on ESPN2. UF faces East Carolina on Friday in the first round of the regional at 12 p.m. ET on ESPN2.

Joining the Gators (38-20, 15-15 SEC) in Conway is host Coastal Carolina (48-11, 26-4 Sun Belt), the No. 13 overall seed in the NCAA Tournament, along with No. 3-seed ECU (33-25, 13-14 AAC) and No. 4-seed Fairfield (39-17, 21-8 MAAC). The winner of the Conway Regional will face the winner of the Auburn Regional.

Florida earned a spot in an NCAA Regional for the 40th time in school history, and the 17-straight postseason appearances under head coach Kevin O’Sullivan is the second-longest streak in the country.

The Gators enter the NCAA Tournament on a six-series winning streak, which is twice as long as the next-closest team in the SEC. Florida had series victories over No. 2 overall seed Texas and No. 3 overall seed Arkansas.

UF, which hasn’t missed the postseason since 2007, has won 18 of its last 24 games, including 15 of 20 against league opponents.

The Field of 64 will compete across 16 NCAA Regional sites from May 30-June 2 and 16 teams will advance to NCAA Super Regionals, scheduled for June 6-8.
