GAINESVILLE, Fla. — The Florida Gators are losing two more pitchers from their 2025 roster. True freshmen Niko Janssens and Felix Ong both entered the transfer portal on Monday, Gators Online has learned.

Janssens made nine appearances this year, finishing with 10 strikeouts, a 12.96 ERA and an 0-1 record in 8.1 innings. The lefty allowed 11 hits, 12 earned runs, two homers and eight walks.

Ong pitched in three games, posting a 10.80 ERA with six strikeouts. He gave up three hits, four earned runs and seven walks in 3.1 innings.

Janssens and Ong the fourth and fifth pitchers to transfer from Florida, along with sophomore LHP Jacob Gomberg, sophomore RHP Alex Philpott and freshman RHP Carson Montsdeoca.

The Gators landed two RHP pitchers via the transfer portal last week, receiving commitments from Notre Dame pitcher Ricky Reeth on Thursday and UCF pitcher Russell Sandefer on Friday.

Florida also has six incoming pitchers in its 2025 recruiting class including RHP Aaron Watson, a top 50 prospect for the 2025 MLB Draft who flipped to UF from Virginia last Friday.

UF can return up 14 pitchers in 2026, although it could have some more attrition: starters Liam Peterson (Jr.) and Aidan King (So.), redshirt junior Jake Clemente, juniors Luke McNeillie, Frank Menendez (LHP) and Matthew Jenkins, redshirt sophomores Christian Rodriguez, Caden McDonald and Mason Laurito (LHP), sophomores Jackson Barberi, McCall Biemiller (LHP) and Blaine Rowland and redshirt freshman Schuyler Sandford and Joshua Whritenour.
