Florida Gators OL target sets new commitment date

When Belle Glade (FL) Glades Central 3-star offensive lineman Javarii Luckas wrapped up his official visit to the University of Florida earlier this month, he announced a commitment date for July 1. However, a week removed from that that trip, Luckas has moved the timeline up even more. He shared on X (formerly known as Twitter) that he will now announce on June 16.
Javarii Luckas has put Florida at the top of his list
Not only did Javarii Luckas announce his initial commitment date after his official visit to Florida, he’s named UF his outright leader. The Gators have been on top for Luckas since a two-day stay to campus in April. He’s since visited West Virginia for an official visit, which took place last weekend. For the Gators, a driving factor behind his interest is his view of the coaches and staff that make up the program.
“Everybody here is amazing,” Luckas told Gators Online after his official visit to Florida. “They keep everything real. They don’t lie to you. Tell you the real. The conversations today with Coach [Billy] Napier [on Sunday] was real good. We had a good, long conversation. It was real cool. We talked about my family and the history down in The Muck, where I’m from, Belle Glade. It was really cool.”
Florida’s staff views Luckas as an underrated prospect. After seeing him in the spring, the staff came away impressed. The Gators told Javarii Luckas he has versatility to move between both guard and tackle.
“They are recruiting me at right tackle, but they said I can play left,” Luckas said. “They can probably put me at center and guard. I just got to be versatile, and they said I’m really good at that. I play right tackle, so I’m comfortable at the right tackle spot.”

The Florida Gators have picked up steam on the recruiting front
UF entered official visit season with only 1 commitment in its 2026 class. That number has grown in the last several weeks. Florida now enters their final official visit weekend with 6 commitments in the fold. The Gators just landed 4-star wide receiver Justin Williams and 3-star offensive tackle Chancellor Campbell this past Sunday. Javarii Luckas has said previously he plans to take an official visit to USF this coming weekend. His commitment date is set for the following Monday after his time in Tampa.
Florida’s OL haul so far this cycle includes the aforementioned Campbell and 3-star IOL G’Nivre Carr. Florida could easily be the next addition to UF’s offensive line class. The On3 RPM gives the Florida Gators a lopsided 96.2% chances to add Luckas.
The On3 Industry, a weighted average of the four major recruiting services, ranks Javarii Luckas as the nation’s No. 1249 Overall player.
