Florida Gators release nonconference schedule for 2023-24 season
Florida’s non-conference schedule is set for the 2023-24 season, the program announced on Monday. The Gators also revealed another neutral-site event they’re competing in.
Florida faces six power conference opponents during nonconference play — four at neutral sites and one on the road — highlighted by UF’s Nov. 17 home game against Florida State.
The Gators open the season against Loyola Maryland on Nov. 6 before taking on Virginia (Nov. 10) at the Spectrum Center in Charlotte for the 2023 Hall of Fame Series tripleheader.
“We play Loyola-Maryland to open the season, a Monday night, and Virginia is that Friday. Quick turnaround,” UF coach Todd Golden said in June. “We’ll lay it on the line and see what we’ve got. For us, we’re excited to play a game like that. It’s not going to make or break our season one way or another, but it’ll be a good litmus test early to see what we can do together.”
The Hall of Fame Series is one of two trips to Charotte for Golden and his team. The Gators are also matched up against Michigan in the Jumpman Invitational on Dec. 19 at the same venue.
Additionally, Florida will be competing in the NIT Tip-Off in Brooklyn (Nov. 22 and 24) and visiting Wake Forest for the inaugural ACC/SEC Challenge (Nov. 29).
UF will also play a pair of games around the state, taking on Richmond in Sunrise for the Orange Bowl Classic (Dec. 9) and East Carolina in Lakeland (Dec. 14).
Five opponents will mark the first meeting in series history. Game times and television information will be announced at a later date.
