Florida wide receiver Muizz Tounkara is leaving Gainesville after just one season. He plans to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal, according to a report from On3’s Pete Nakos.

Tounkara played in eight games this year, seeing time on offense and on special teams. He logged offensive snaps in six of those appearances and finished the season with two catches for 12 yards, a four-yard reception in the opener against Long Island and an eight-yard grab two weeks later in the SEC opener against LSU.

Tounkara graduated from League City (Texas) Clear Springs. He was a 3-star recruit in the 2025 class and ranked inside the Top 750 nationally. The Rivals’ Industry Rankings also listed him as a top-100 player in Texas.

Tounkara signed with Florida as part of the Gators’ 27-man 2025 class. Among the four receivers in that group, he arrived as the lowest-rated behind Vernell Brown III, Dallas Wilson and Naeshaun Montgomery. That class finished No. 10 nationally in Rivals’ Industry Team Rankings.

The Gators are headed into their second transfer window of the year, with the first opening in October after Billy Napier was fired. That period closed once Jon Sumrall was hired as the new head coach.

Now, after only one season in Gainesville, Tounkara plans to move on. He intends to enter his name into the portal when the two-week window opens on Jan. 2.
