Todd Golden on Revolutionaries
“I think they’re very, very good offensively. They play close to four-guard-ish-type players. They spread you out. They’re a good early offense, ball-screen team. They had a disappointing effort last night, and I’m sure we’re going to get a team that’s pretty fired up and emotional to try to flip that. But I made sure the guys understood after the UConn game the other night, when there was some disappointment in the locker room, that if we allow ourselves to sulk, we’re going to get punked on Saturday. This is a really good team. This isn’t a team that we can walk in and just expect to win. We got to play well on Saturday. And I think our guys understand that and respect George Washington.”
Game notes
* The Gators have battled one of the nation’s toughest schedules to date, third-hardest per KenPom, already facing three teams that currently sit in the AP top five. George Washington will be the eighth KenPom top-100 opponent UF will face, the team’s most in regular season nonconference action since 2017-18.
* In Florida’s three games this season vs. current AP top-5 opponents, Thomas Haugh has averaged 23.0 points on .575 shooting (23-40), .429 from 3-point range (6-14).
