Todd Golden on Miami
“They’ve been explosive. They’ve been scoring a lot of points. I think they’re playing bigger like we are with Malik and Ernest Udeh. Two really accomplished, old front court players. Trey Donaldson is a really good piece for them. A guy that we know well from his time at Auburn. Tru Washington, a kid from Arizona actually, that was at New Mexico is playing really well. They have some really talented players. I think there’s some similarities to the way they play and how we play. I think there’s some other things that they do a little differently, but I think it’s going to be a really good matchup on Sunday.”
Game notes
* Florida and Miami clash for the 72nd time in series history but the fi rst in six years, last meeting in the semifi nals of the 2019 Charleston Classic. Among nonconference foes, the Gators have played only Florida State more times than the Hurricanes (77 meetings vs. FSU).
* Miami is UF’s third power conference opponent over its first four games. UF last had three high-major opponents in its first four games in 2000-01, when the Gators beat Florida State, DePaul and Florida Atlantic and lost at Michigan State for a 3-1 start.
