Todd Golden on UNF
“Listen, there’s a lot of new from last year. They’re a unique team the way they play. They want to spread you out, want to shoot a lot of threes. I think they’re going to try to take advantage or manipulate the fact that we play bigger and see if they can get some advantages that way. But for me, it’s about us. We gotta focus on what’s important to us. We gotta make sure we play with great purpose, play with a little better organization and execution on the offensive end, do a better job guarding straight line drives, defending without fouling defensively, and we gotta dominate the boards. We lost by two on Monday night against Arizona. You know, I think percentage wise, we actually out rebounded them by like 2.5%. We got 37% of our misses. They got 35, but Thursday has gotta be a great advantage for us on the glass.”
Game notes

* This will be the third time UF has hosted North Florida in its home opener, also doing so in 2013-14 and 2019 20. Both of those previous instances were also the Gators’ season opener.
* Florida’s 54-point win vs. UNF last season matched the ninth-largest margin of victory in UF program history. The Gators posted a 65-25 rebounding advantage and allowed just five 2-point field goals all game.
