It’s been a busy week of current Florida Gators announcing their intentions to enter the NCAA Transfer portal. The latest name planning to enter their name into the portal once it opens on Jan. 2 is redshirt sophomore wide receiver Aidan Mizell. Rivals’ Hayes Fawcett was the first to report the news of Mizell’s intentions to transfer.

Aidan Mizell flashed in his young UF career

If he sticks with his plans to enter the portal next month, Florida wide receiver Aidan Mizell will depart having played in 22 games during his 3 seasons in Gainesville. This past season in 2025, Mizell missed some time due to injury, but appeared in 8 games. He finished that season with 19 catches for 177 receiving yards and 1 touchdown.

So far in his career, Mizell has accounted for 38 catches for a total of 404 yards and 3 touchdowns.

Aidan Mizell is the sixth Florida Gator scholarship player to announce their intentions to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal this week. Other names with plans to move on from the program include sophomore quarterback DJ Lagway, redshirt freshman running back KD Daniels, redshirt freshman tight end Amir Jackson, redshirt freshman safety Josiah Davis, and junior safety Jordan Castell. True freshman walk-on wide receiver Mike Peterson Jr. also plans to enter the portal.

Aidan Mizell was the No. 100 overall prospect, No. 19 wide receiver, and No. 25-ranked player in the state of Florida. That is according to the Rivals Industry Ranking, a weighted algorithm that compiles all major recruiting media services. He arrived at UF after playing high school football for Orlando (Fla.) Boone. He started to gain traction on the recruiting trail after his junior season. That year, he compiled 47 receptions for 1,003 receiving yards and 18 touchdowns. Both of his parents graduated from and competed in track and field at the University of Florida.
