On Thursday, Florida men’s basketball standout Alex Condon was named to the preseason watch list for the 2026 NABC Division I Player of the Year Award.

Condon’s honor adds to his growing list of preseason accolades, which already includes AP All-America and first-team All-SEC recognition.

The Perth, Australia, native had seven double-doubles during Florida’s 2024-25 national championship season. He grabbed 103 offensive rebounds, the third-most in a single season in school history.

Florida has only had one first-team All-America in its history. Walter Clayton Jr. earned the honor for the 2024-25 season. Before Alex Condon, the last Gator to get preseason AP All-America recognition was Joakim Noah ahead of the 2006-07 season.

Condon was a key piece of Florida’s championship run last season, bringing size, skill and consistency to the frontcourt. With several veterans gone, he’s expected to take on an even larger role as the Gators aim to defend their title

The Gators open their season on Monday, Nov. 3, against Arizona in the Hall of Fame Series in Las Vegas.
