They have a bright future, a young QB, great incoming freshman class, and honestly, why not UF?”
Notable: The Gators flipped Louis from FSU.
Key stats: Louis’ team still is alive in the playoffs but thus far he has 3,243 rushing yards through 41 games and averages 7.7 yards per carry.

What the Gators are getting in Byron Louis
Scouting report: Here’s what people are saying about Louis …
“This is a productive kid who does a good job of getting north and south. You have better wrap up when making contact with Louis too, as he does a good job of powering through defenders. He runs with a purpose and doesn’t show much wasted movement. Once finding a lane, Louis puts his foot on the gas to move the chains. He is the type of ball carrier who can wear down a defense over four quarters. Louis is in the midst of another 1,000-yard season.” — Corey Bender of On3
“Byron Louis was one of the stars for Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) American Heritage in the loss to Alpharetta (Ga.) Milton (On Aug. 23). The 4-star back rushed for 171 yards and a touchdown on 19 carries. Louis ran hard against a physical defensive front and showed a promising combination of contact balance and burst. His biggest play of the day came in the third quarter – running outside zone to the right, before making a cut and racing to the end zone from 68 yards out. Louis also made a few plays as a pass catcher.” — On3 Dir. of Scouting Charles Power
