Gators name captains for the Mississippi State game
The Florida Gators have named their captains for this Saturday’s homecoming game vs. Mississippi State: linebacker Jaden Robinson, EDGE Kamran James and offensive guard Knijeah Harris.
Robinson, a native of Lake City, Fla., is one of the team’s most underrated players. A starter, the junior is fourth on the squad with 23 tackles (13 solo). Additionally, he has 2.5 tackles for loss, 0.5 sacks and a forced fumble. He had a season-high nine tackles vs. South Florida.
James, a junior from the Orlando area, has 19 total tackles, 1.0 tackles for loss and a sack He arguably had his best game of the season in UF’s 29-21 win over then-No. 9 Texas two weeks ago.
Harris, a junior from Port St. Lucie, Fla., has started at left tackle in all six Florida games thus far in 2025. That comes after he made 13 starts last season. He currently holds a solid pass blocking grade of 71.9 from Pro Football Focus this season.

James isn’t happy with UF’s 2-4 record, but he’s excited about this weekend’s game.
“We have plenty of die hard fans you see on Saturdays,” James said. “As much noise as you’ve seen, you come to the Swamp on Saturday and it’s packed up with people that love us and that respect us, no matter what. So, it’s hard to let the media get to you when you know you have so much support.”
The Florida Gators name different captains each game.
Last week vs. Texas A&M, the honor went to quarterback DJ Lagway, offensive guard Damieon George Jr. and junior safety Bryce Thornton. Against Texas, junior defensive backs Jordan Castell and Sharif Denson, along with junior tight end Hayden Hansen got the nod.
For the Miami game, senior punter Tommy Doman, sophomore linebacker Myles Graham and senior center Jake Slaughter were Florida’s captains. Sophomore running back Jadan Baugh, senior kicker Trey Smack, and redshirt senior edge Tyreak Sapp served as the Florida captains for the LSU game.
