Gators Online Show: Florida Football opens spring camp
Welcome to the Gators Online Show! For episode 83, co-hosts Zach Abolverdi and Nick de la Torre discuss the start of spring camp and Florida’s first practice.
We open the show with our initial takeaways from Thursday, including the return of senior quarterback Graham Mertz and the debut of five-star QB signee DJ Lagway. The addition of transfer Pup Howard and freshman Myles Graham at the linebacker position also caught our eye.
We break down what we saw from each position on the offensive side of the ball, including the competition in the wide receiver rotation and a new-look offensive line with two transfers at tackle and redshirt junior Damieon George now playing guard.
We then switch the other side of the ball, which features five-star EDGE signee LJ McCray and transfers at all three levels of the defense. We discuss the improved depth along the defensive line as well as the new pieces and position battles in the secondary.

We wrap up the show by recapping Florida basketball’s blowout win over Alabama on Tuesday in the final home game of the 2023-24 season and Gators baseball’s series win at Miami last weekend, the third consecutive series victory for UF over the Hurricanes.
