Florida center Jake Slaughter has been named a Second Team All-American by The Athletic, capping a standout 2025 season. He also earned All-SEC First Team honors and is a finalist for the Rimington Trophy, awarded annually to the nation’s top center.

Slaughter, a redshirt senior, has been Florida’s starting center for the past three seasons. He started eight games in 2023 and has appeared in every game since 2022.

In 2025, he snapped the ball 748 times, allowing just one sack, one quarterback hit and two hurries. He earned a PFF offense grade of 78.9, run-block grade of 82.2 and pass-block grade of 87.1 for the season, including 11 games with a pass-block grade of 70.0 or higher.

Among all centers nationally, Slaughter ranks eighth in PFF run-block, pass-block and overall offense grades, and fifth in zone run-block grade with 80.3.

One more task before the NFL Draft

Jake Slaughter’s consistent play has also made him one of the top centers in the upcoming NFL Draft. ESPN draft analyst Mel Kiper Jr. ranks Slaughter No. 7 among interior offensive linemen available.

Slaughter built on a strong 2024 season when he earned national recognition as one of the country’s top centers. Over his three-year career as Florida’s starting center, he has established himself as one of the nation’s most reliable and technically skilled players at the position.

Going forward, Slaughter will play his final game at the college level on Jan. 31 when he takes part in the Panini Senior Bowl in Mobile, Alabama. That game is tabbed as the premier college football all-star game for draft-eligible players and the official first step in the NFL Draft process.
