Jake Slaughter named second-team Walter Camp All-American
Not long after Florida Gators center Jake Slaughter was named a second team All-American by The Athletic, he was honored again. This time, the Walter Camp Foundation has put him on its second team, too.
Per a UF release, “The Walter Camp Foundation is the first of five publications to issue All-American honors to 52 players, with the others including the Associated Press (Dec. 15), the American Football Coaches Association (Dec. 16), the Sporting News (Dec. 17) and the Football Writers Association of America (Dec. 18) with the Consensus from the NCAA coming out on Dec. 19.”
Slaughter, a redshirt senior, has been Florida’s starting center for the better part of the past three seasons. He started eight games in 2023 and has appeared in every game since 2022. All told, that gives him 33 starts as a Gator.
In 2025, Slaughter snapped the ball 748 times, allowing just only sack, one quarterback hit and two hurries. He earned a Pro Football Focus offense grade of 78.9, run-block grade of 82.2 and pass-block grade of 87.1 for the season, including 11 games with a pass-block grade of 70.0 or higher.

Among all centers nationally, Slaughter ranks eighth in PFF run-block, pass-block and overall offense grades, and fifth in zone run-block grade with 80.3.
Next up for Jake Slaughter, the Senior Bowl
Jake Slaughter’s consistent play has also made him one of the top centers in the upcoming NFL Draft. ESPN draft analyst Mel Kiper Jr. ranks Slaughter No. 7 among interior offensive linemen available.
Slaughter was a consensus All-American in 2024.
Going forward, he will play his final game at the college level on Jan. 31 when he takes part in the Panini Senior Bowl in Mobile, Alabama. That game is considered by some as the premier college football all-star game for draft-eligible players and the official first step in the NFL Draft process.
