On Monday, the SEC announced that Florida’s matchup against Ole Miss on Nov. 15. will kick off at 7 p.m. from Vaught-Hemingway Stadium. The game in Oxford, Mississippi will be televised nationally on ESPN.

The meeting marks the second straight season the Gators and Rebels will square off. Florida defeated Ole Miss 24-17 last fall in Gainesville behind a balanced offensive effort and a strong showing from its defense.

Florida Gators Football Coaching Hot Board: 2.0

The Gators hold the slight edge in the all-time series, 13-12, and it dates back to 1926, although the two programs have met only sparingly in recent years due to the SEC’s rotating schedule.

The Florida Gators enter the matchup with a 3-5 record overall and 2-3 mark in SEC play, while Ole Miss sits at 8-1 and 5-1 in the conference, continuing its push for a spot in the College Football Playoff.

The Rebels have been one of the SEC’s most consistent teams under head coach Lane Kiffin, whose name has surfaced in recent weeks as a possible candidate for Florida’s head coaching vacancy. Kiffin has built Ole Miss into a nationally competitive program known for its explosive offense and heavy use of the transfer portal, two traits that have made him an intriguing option as the Gators’ next leader.

This year’s primetime matchup in Oxford will give Florida a chance to build on last season’s win, while the Rebels look to even the recent score on their home turf.
