Lane Kiffin is now the betting favorite for the Florida Gators job

Bet Online updated its odds for the next Florida Gators coach earlier this week. The betting lines have moved and there’s now a new favorite for the job: Lane Kiffin.
The Ole Miss coach is now listed with -150 odds after improving from +300 to +200 in the previous update. He was the favorite for UF’s job in the first two betting lines.
Kiffin is 52-19 in Oxford (30-17 in the SEC). He has the Rebels off to an 8-1 start and No. 6 in College Football Playoff rankings. Mississippi hosts the Gators on Nov. 15.
Second on the list is Missouri coach Eli Drinkwitz, who was the favorite for the Florida job in the last two updates. His odds have moved this week from -110 to +120 on Wednesday.
His odds have improved from -105 to -110, according to Bet Online. Drinkwitz is 44-26 (24-22 SEC) at Mizzou and 6-2 this season after going 10-3 last year and 11-2 in 2023.
Washington coach Jedd Fisch now has the third-highest odds, jumping from +900 to +600. His Huskies are 6-2 this season (2-2 Big Ten) and Fisch led Arizona to a 10-3 record in 2023.

Former Penn State coach James Franklin is at +900 odds after being +200 in last week’s update, which ranked second. Franklin went 104-45 at Penn State and 13-3 last year to reach the semifinals.
Two new betting favorites to be Florida’s next coach are Vanderbilt coach Clark Lea (+1200) and Georgia defensive coordinator Glenn Schumann (+1600). The top remaining odds at this time are +1600 for Arizona State’s Kenny Dillingham and Georgia Tech’s Brent Key and +2000 for Louisville’s Jeff Brohm.

“My sense is we will have a wide variety of candidates,” Florida athletic director Scott Stricklin said of the coaching search. “We want people who can win championships at the University of Florida. That’s going to be our goal. We want somebody who can come in here, be a strong leader and win championships.”
