Florida eliminated from SEC Tournament with 3-1 loss to Ole Miss

The Florida Gators were eliminated from the SEC Tournament just before a 1 a.m. ET on Thursday with their 3-1 loss to No. 7-seed Ole Miss in the second round. It was a pitcher’s duel Wednesday night.
Only one of the combined four runs was earned. UF had just four hits on offense and committed two costly errors during the Rebels’ three-spot in the fourth, which was all they needed to advance.
Pitchers Hunter Elliott (eight Ks), Mason Morris and Connor Spencer totaled 11 strikeouts and didn’t allow an earned run as the Gators scored in the fifth on a throwing error by the Ole Miss shortstop.
The Florida pitching staff also combined for 11 Ks, led by starter Liam Peterson with six strikeouts in 4.0 innings. Luke McNeillie (four Ks) and Jake Clemente both tossed two scoreless frames.
The Rebels also won the regular season series against UF in Oxford, taking the first two games. Below are live updates from the Gators (38-20, 15-15 SEC) against the Rebels (38-18, 16-14 SEC).
