Florida dominates Gamecocks with 11-3 win in SEC Tournament
The No. 15 Florida Gators continued their domination against South Carolina this season in the SEC Tournament. After sweeping the Gamecocks in Columbia, UF beat them again 11-3 on Tuesday at Hoover Metropolitan Stadium.
Florida had 13 hits and three home runs by Bobby Boser (2nd), Brody Donay (3rd) and Hayden Yost (5th), who also had an RBI double in the third. Evans hit an RBI double the following inning and an RBI single in the eighth, when UF put up a four-spot along with singles by Brendan Lawson (2 RBI) and Donay.
Billy Barlow earned his second win, with he and Blaine Rowland throwing 3.2 innings and two strikeouts apiece. Christian Rodriguez struck out two more in the ninth. The Gators outscored South Carolina 41-6 in their last three matchups and have won 18 of their last 23 games and 15 of 19 against SEC opponents.

End of 9th: Florida 11, South Carolina 3
Rodriguez had a pair of strikeouts to close out the game, pitching 1.2 scoreless innings. Rowland finished with two Ks, six hits, two runs allowed and no walks in 3.2 frames.
End of 8th: Florida 11, South Carolina 3
The Gamecocks got on the board again with back-to-back RBI doubles, but the Gators responded with a four-spot in the bottom of the eighth. After three walks in a row to load the bases, UF had three RBI hits in a row by Lawson, Evans and Donay.
End of 7th: Florida 7, South Carolina 1
Rowland pitched another scoreless frame and he’s up to 40 pitches in 3.1 innings. South Carolina made two pitching changes in the inning, but the Gators couldn’t take advantage as Evans and Yost were stranded on third and second.
End of 6th: Florida 7, South Carolina 1
Rowland retired three in a row with his first two strikeouts after a leadoff single. He has pitched 2.2 scoreless innings. Matthew Becker tossed the first 1-2-3 frame for the Gamecocks.

End of 5th: Florida 7, South Carolina 1
The Gators extended their lead to four runs with Hayden Yost leaving the yard for his fourth home run of the season and UF’s third of the game. Since trailing in the first, Florida has four straight scoreless frames on defense and four straight innings of runs scored.
End of 4th: Florida 6, South Carolina 1
Ty Evans doubled to right center and brought Brendan Lawson home all the way from first. Blaine Rowland made his sixth appearance of the season to replace Barlow, who finished with two Ks, four hits, three walks and one earned run in 3.2 innings (78 P, 46 S).
End of 3rd: Florida 5, South Carolina 1
The Florida Gators added two more runs on three hits, including Brody Donay’s 17th homer and back-to-back doubles by Blake Cyr and Hayden Yost, who plated Cyr. Barlow gave up his third hit and second walk but struck out his first batter with another scoreless frame.
End of 2nd: Florida 3, South Carolina 1
Bobby Boser blasted a two-out, three-run homer, his 16th jack of the season, to give Florida the lead. Stripling also hit a two-out single, while UF starting pitcher tossed a 1-2-3 frame in the second.
End of 1st: South Carolina 1, Florida 0
The Gamecocks loaded the bases with no outs after two singles and a walk, but UF gave up just one run and made a double play on their RBI groundout. Bobby Boser hit a leadoff single before USC got its 46th twin kill, which leads the SEC, and struck out Blake Cyr looking.
