Live blog: Tennessee 7, Florida Gators 0 (1st quarter)

GAINESVILLE, FLORIDA — This has been a disappointing season to say the least for the Florida Gators. But when UF plays the Tennessee Volunteers it’s always intense and Saturday’s game between the two rivals at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium should be just that.
Florida is only 3-7 and has dropped three straight games. But a Gators team hasn’t lost to the Vols at the Swamp since 2003. No. 20 Tennessee (7-3), which boasts a powerful passing attack, will present a test to a Gators squad that has played many good teams close but in most of its defeats faded down the stretch.
Can the Florida offense and quarterback DJ Lagway play like they did in the first half of last week’s loss to Ole Miss, when the Gators had 24 points at the break? Or will the team that was held scoreless in the final 30 minutes be on display again Saturday?
Regardless of records, the Gators always seem to play Tennessee tough. Florida leads the all-time series 32-22 and is 17-5 in Gainesville.
Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m. ET.

FIRST QUARTER
*The Gators went three-and-out on their first series, thanks to yet another big penalty by the offensive line. This time, it was a holding call on left tackle Austin Barber that wiped out a long pass play to Jadan Baugh.
*The Vols marched down the field easily on their first drive, needing only nine plays go to 75 yards. The TD came on a 23-yard pass from Joey Aguilar to Ethan Davis. SCORE: Vols 7, Gators 0 (11:28)
