Florida suffers 9-6 loss against Alabama that evens the series

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — The No. 23 Florida Gators dropped the second game of their last regular series Friday with a 9-6 loss against 18th-ranked Alabama. against are one win away from claiming their sixth straight series. It sets up a rubber match on Sunday at 4 p.m. on SEC Network+.
UF scored the first two runs before the Tide tied the game in the third. Alabama took a fifth-inning lead with a five-spot and added two insurances runs in the ninth. The Gators tried to rally in the bottom half with a four-spot of their own, but it was too little too late.

End of 9th: Alabama 9, Florida 6
The Gators gave up two more runs on a sac fly and a home run before their comeback effort in the bottom of the ninth. They put up a four-spot with a 2 RBI double by Boser, a sac fly and an RBI single from Evans but couldn’t pull any closer.
End of 8th: Alabama 7, Florida 2
Rowland tossed another 1-2-3 frame and he’s up to three strikeouts. Donay finally got a hit, but the Tide ended the inning on a double play.
End of 7th: Alabama 7, Florida 2
Rowland hurled his first 1-2-3 frame with two more strikeouts. Alabama pitcher Braylon Myers has retired six UF batters in a row with three Ks.
End of 6th: Alabama 7, Florida 2
Florida pitcher Blaine Rowland replaced Rodriguez in the sixth and threw a pair of strikeouts. Crimson Tide second baseman Brennan Norton made a fantastic play for the final out. UF has just one hit in the last four innings.
End of 5th: Alabama 7, Florida 2
The Crimson Tide took the lead with a five-spot in the fifth, scoring five runs on just one hit. Barlow was pulled after three walks and a wild pitch, Alabama scored two runs on an error and then Brady Neal hit a two-out, 3 RBI double against Christian Rodriguez.

End of 4th: Florida 2, Alabama 2
Billy Barlow replaced Coppola and struck out his first batter to end the frame. Coppola finished with 10 Ks, three hits, two runs and no walks in 3.2 innings (67 P, 43 S). Quick threw his second straight 1-2-3 inning.
End of 3rd: Florida 2, Alabama 2
The Crimson Tide tied the game with two runs on three hits in the third, including an RBI single by Kade Snell on a play where Ty Evans failed to make the catch in right field. Alabama pitcher Riley Quick tossed his first 1-2-3 frame.
End of 2nd: Florida 2, Alabama 0
The Gators added a run with an RBI single by Bobby Boser to plate Landon Stripling and advance Blake Brookins to third. Coppola has six Ks through two innings and the only Alabama player that reached was on the error.
End of 1st: Florida 1, Alabama 0
UF scored first with an RBI single by Brody Donay to plate Brendan Lawson after his walk. It was a strong start for pitcher Pierce Coppola, who struck out the first three Alabama batters and threw strikes in nine of his first 14 pitches.
