OL Daniel Pierre Louis flips to Gators from FSU

GAINESVILLE, FLORIDA — The Florida Gators have scored a big recruiting win over their arch-rivals from Tallahassee, Fla. Billy Napier & Co. have flipped 3-star interior offensive lineman  Daniel Pierre Louis from Florida State.

Pierre Louis, at 6-foot-4, 290 pounds, is On3’s No. 52 IOL in the 2025 class. He attends Loxahatchee (Fla.) Seminole Ridge. Pierre Louis had been committed to the Seminoles since Oct. 15. He becomes Florida’s lone offensive line commitment.

Pierre Louis officially visited the Gators over the weekend. Before the visit, he talked to Corey Bender of Gators Online about his relationship with Florida co-offensive line coach Jonathan Decoster. 

“He’s Haitian and I’m Haitian, so we connect really well,” said Pierre Louis. “We have a bond where he gives me great feedback and tells me where to improve and also shows me little tips and tricks to keep elevating my game. He shows me development of other players like me that they brought into their program. Overall, the vibes are really good. He’s been showing me what their plans for development are, like, how they go into each week and their grade-out sheets. It’s been really nice.”

Additionally, Pierre Louis has grown close with Florida’s other offensive line coach, Rob Sale.

“He’s a smart, smart coach. He definitely knows what he’s talking about,” Pierre Louis told Gators Online. “I feel like he gets the best out of his players and everything he does. I like that a lot.”

Florida now has 15 commitments and the No. 24 recruiting class in the country.

Sunday night, the Gators landed 4-star quarterback Tramell Jones of Jacksonville (Fla.) Mandarin. He de-committed from FSU the previous week. Like Pierre Louis, Jones officially visited Florida last weekend.

Monday, Florida landed 3-star defensive lineman Stephon Shivers of Brentwood Academy (Tn.).
