The Florida Gators men’s basketball team is adding to its 2021-22 season non-conference schedule with a neutral site game against the Ohio Bobcats on Dec. 14 at Amalie Arena in Tampa.
The news was first reported by CBS Sports’ Jon Rothstein.
Florida and Ohio have faced off three times before, dating back to 1927. Most recently, the Gators took down the Bobcats 67-62 in the first round of the NCAA Tournament in 2005. UF holds a 2-1 all-time record over Ohio.
The Bobcats finished the 2021-22 season with a 25-10 overall record and a second round exit in the College Basketball Invitational.
A time has yet to be announced as the schools have yet to officially announced the matchup.
Florida’s 2022-23 continues to build
The SEC announced each of its teams’ conference home and road matchups for the upcoming season on June 29.
The Gators are also set to head to the Phil Knight Legacy event in Portland, Oregon, from Nov. 24-27 five years after attending the PK80 event in 2017.
UF will host UConn on Dec. 7 to close out a home-and-home series and will later travel to Manhattan, Kansas, to take on the Kansas State Wildcats as a part of the annual SEC/Big 12 Challenge on Jan. 28.
