Thomas Haugh, Alex Condon get 1st-round projections from The Athletic

The Florida Gators had three players chosen in last week’s NBA Daft, including one in the first round—All-American point guard Walter Clayton Jr. Might UF have even more players taken in the first round next year? It’s possible, according to The Athletic.
An early 2026 NBA mock draft from Sam Vecenie has two Gators listed as first-round picks—center/forward Alex Condon and forward Thomas Haugh. Here are their projected landing spots and what Vecenie said about them:
Thomas Haugh was key during UF’s championship run
15. Thomas Haugh: By the end of Florida’s national title campaign, Haugh was the Gators player that NBA scouts were most intrigued by. Walter Clayton Jr. rightfully got the accolades, but Haugh’s all-around game at his size is impressive. He averaged 12.5 points, six rebounds and three assists over Florida’s final 18 games, shooting 51 percent from the field, 37 percent from 3 and 77 percent from the line. He’s versatile on defense and a serious athlete who can get up and down in transition as well as guard a bit on the perimeter. He was the matchup nightmare that allowed Florida to go supersized in lineups, or allowed them to stay big while going skilled with him at the four. Per CBB Analytics, he had the biggest impact in on-court net ratings last year for Florida.
Gators Online note on Haugh: Haugh, who will play small-forward and power-forward next season, was one of the most effective sixth men in the country during the Florida Gators’ 2024–25 national championship run. He averaged 9.8 points, 6.1 rebounds and 2.2 assists and started five games in league play after an injury to starting power forward Alex Condon. In the NCAA Tournament, his four 3-pointers against Texas Tech in the regional finals provided the Gators with a much needed spark. Without them, a national title doesn’t happen.
Alex Condon had a big season for the Florida Gators
29. Alex Condon: I’ve always viewed Condon as a potential NBA player, but I didn’t get behind the push that he seemed to get this season as a potential first-round pick. I talked to very few scouts who had him in that range this year. Still, what makes him so interesting is that he’s a balanced, polished big man at 6-foot-11 who can handle the ball at his size, pass it, potentially shoot at some point and who has tremendous coordination. He made the All-SEC team last year while averaging 11 points, 7.5 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.3 blocks, but what’s most impressive is his hand-eye coordination.
Gators Online note on Condon: Condon is returning for his junior season after withdrawing from the 2025 NBA Draft in May. He earned second-team All-SEC honors last season for the Florida Gators.

Finally, The Athletic mocked Gators point guard Boogie Fland, an Arkansas transfer, at No. 41.
Gators Online note on Fland: Fland, a rising sophomore listed at 6-foot-2 and 175 pounds, transferred from Arkansas this offseason. He was On3’s No. 1 point guard in the class of 2024 out of Archbishop Stepinac in New York. At Arkansas, he averaged 13.5 points, 5.1 assists, and 3.2 rebounds in 21 games (18 starts). He shot 37.9 percent from the field and 34.0 percent from three, with just 1.4 turnovers per game—strong numbers for a freshman primary ball-handler.
