Todd Golden and the Gators have landed their first commitment from the 2024 class, as in-state guard Isaiah Brown announced his decision on Sunday evening.

Brown, a 6-foot-4, 170-pound shooting guard from Orlando Christian Prep, checks in as the 24th-ranked shooting guard and 121st-ranked prospect overall. That is according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies

Nearly 15 programs have offered the three-star prospect, including Georgia, Missouri, VCU, South Florida, Buffalo, Florida Atlantic and Tulsa.

“Home is where my heart is. #Committed #GoGators,” Brown tweeted this evening.

During his junior season, Brown averaged 18.6 points, 5.7 rebounds and 1.3 steals per game. He shot 52 percent from the field, including 39 percent from three-point territory.

With Isaiah Brown on board, the Gators now have the 23rd-ranked recruiting class in the 2024 Industry Ranking Basketball Team Recruiting Rankings.

As for the Gators’ 2023 class, they finished at No. 60 in the 2023 On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings. Pennsburg (Penn.) Perkiomen School power forward Thomas Haugh and Perth (Australia) NBA Global Academy power forward Alex Condon are the high school players in the class, while four transfers recently joined forces with the SEC program as well.

Haugh, the No. 217 player overall in the On3 Industry Ranking, kicked things off last summer. He was in Gainesville for his official visit and then pulled the trigger shortly thereafter.

All in all, choosing the Orange and Blue was a no-brainer for the 6-foot-9 forward. A handful of additional Power Five programs were in the mix as well, including Illinois, Maryland and Virginia Tech.

“I mean, honestly, growing up, Florida was one of my dream schools,” said Haugh. “Growing up, I loved the university. And I come from Pennsylvania, so it was kind of unique. I was a big Tim Tebow fan, so I watched the football team a lot. And then I kind of fell in love with the basketball team, too, ‘cause they won that back-to-back national championships.

“So, growing up, I loved Florida. Then just being able to play this spring and gain a lot of high-major offers and looks, it was great to know that Florida had me on their radar. And then they came to watch me play. We got a visit set up, and I loved the visit. So then I just took it from there, and my family and I made the decision. So it was great. It was a great past couple of weeks.”
