WATCH: Elijah Haven highlights from career game with 535 yards, 8 TDs

BATON ROUGE, La. — Elijah Haven had a career night on Thursday and showed why he’s ranked the nation’s No. 1 junior quarterback. He put on an offensive clinic in Dunham’s School shootout victory over Live Oak, 63-42.
The five-star recruit recorded video game numbers with 535 yards of total offense and eight scores, including six passing touchdowns. All three marks set new career highs for Haven, one of Florida’s top targets in the 2027 class.
“It was the whole team,” Haven said of his performance. “The offensive line did great, wide receivers were able to make some great plays for me. It was a great night.”
Haven set the tone from the jump, connecting with senior receiver Jarvis Washington Jr. for a 72-yard touchdown on the opening snap. It was one of four touchdowns he threw to the South Alabama commit, who finished with 11 receptions for 259 yards.
“We started off explosive, got on a hotfoot and they couldn’t stop us,” Washington said. “We scored on the first play of the game, and it just kept rolling from there.”
The 6-foot-5, 215-pound Haven threw for 402 yards on 21 of 30 passing. He tossed touchdowns to senior receivers Trevor Haman and Khris Thomas as well.
Haven also threw a long touchdown to senior WR Richard Montgomery that was called back, but the Tigers still scored on the series with his 60-yard TD to Washington.
“Elijah was fantastic tonight,” Dunham School coach Neil Weiner said after the game. “Always making the right decision on where to go with the ball.”

Haven did damage on the ground as well. He eclipsed the 100-yard mark and finished with 133 rushing yards on 10 carries.
One of Haven’s top plays was his 52-yard touchdown scamper in the third quarter. He capped the night with a short rushing TD late.
“I just saw green,” Haven said of his long TD run.
Haven was named the 2024 MaxPreps National Sophomore of the Year after racking up more than 4,000 total yards and 56 touchdowns last season. He plans to visit Florida this fall for the Texas game on Oct. 4 along with LSU (Sept. 13), Penn State (Sept. 27), Alabama (Oct.18), Georgia (Nov. 15) and Auburn (Nov. 29).
