WATCH: First Florida Gators TD of 2025 season

The Florida Gators wasted no time putting points on the board in Saturday’s season opener against Long Island.
Safety Bryce Thornton scooped up a loose ball and returned it 37 yards for a touchdown, giving the Gators a 7-0 lead early in the first quarter at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium. The score marked Thornton’s first career touchdown in a Florida uniform and the first of the 2025 season for Billy Napier’s squad.
The defensive spark helped set the tone in front of a packed Swamp, as the Gators look to kick off their campaign with a statement win. You can see that play below.
