Baugh has 22 carries for 106 yards and five touchdowns with nearly three minutes left in the game.
Baugh, listed at 6-foot and 227 pounds, had 31 carries for 153 yards entering Saturday’s game. He started in place of injured senior Montrell Johnson Jr.
Baugh signed with the Gators over Alabama last December. He was the No. 24 running back recruit in the country for the On3 Industry Rankings. Baugh also played linebacker and safety in high school at Decatur (Ga.) Columbia.
“For him, he was playing Wildcat quarterback. I mean, playing receiver, linebacker, and safety, he’s playing every play of the game,” Florida head coach Billy Napier said on Monday. “How many times has he had to actually know what the front is, who the Mike is, go through a full progression. So just the accumulation of reps. He’ll continue to get better.”
