Younger brother of Vernell Brown III commits to Florida as a walk on
Current Florida Gators freshman wide receiver Vernell Brown III continued his families legacy when he committed and signed with the program in the 2025 cycle. That legact continued once again, as his younger brother, Corey Brown, committed to UF as a walk-on in the 2026 class on Monday morning. The younger brown shared his decsion to continue his athletic and academic career in Gainesville on X (formerly known as Twitter).

The Florida Gators’ newest preffered walk on commit plays for Orlando (Fla.) Jones high school. That’s the same school that his older brother, Vernell, played for. Brown’s HUDL profile lists him at 6-foot-1, 280 pounds, where he plays guard and center along the offensive line.

Brown’s father, (Vernell Jr.) and grandfather (Vernell Sr.) played football at the University of Florida along with two of his great uncles, Charlie and Johnell Brown. Brown’s uncle, Vincent Brown Sr., played running back at Florida under Urban Meyer and was part of the 2008 national championship team. His cousin Vincent Brown Jr. is also a current walk on with the Gators after spending his first two seasons at Southeastern University.
