Georgia will play in the 2025 SEC Tournament on Wednesday. Whatever games the Bulldogs play in that tournament could be the only ones they play away from Foley Field unless they make it to the College World Series. That actually seems likely at this point.

According to D1Baseball, Georgia is projected as a No. 5 seed in the NCAA Tournament. That would put it in position to host a regional. Should the Bulldogs win that four-team regional, they’d move on to a two-team super regional in a best of three format for a chance to play in Omaha.

Georgia is currently ranked No. 3 in the land by Baseball America, which has yet to release updated NCAA tournament projections. Despite having the Bulldogs as a No. 5 seed, D1 Baseball ranks the Bulldogs at No. 10.

Texas is the projected top seed per D1 Baseball with Arkansas at No. 2 and Vanderbilt at No. 3. Georgia played all three of those teams this year with the Longhorns and Commodores on the the road. The Bulldogs were swept in both of those series but they took two of three at home against Arkansas.

North Carolina is projected as the No. 4 seed. Auburn comes in as the No. 6 seed. The Tigers were swept by Georgia in Athens earlier this season. LSU and Oregon, in that order, round out the top eight.

Georgia finished the regular season on Saturday with a 7-5 win over Texas A&M. That was a rubber-match win for the Bulldogs, who earned a record of 18-12 in the conference. They also went 42-14 overall won a whopping 28 of 33 games at home while going 10-10 on the road. Georgia also went 3-0 in neutral site games on the year. That includes a win over projected No. 16 seed Georgia Tech at Truist Park last month.

Next up for Georgia is a matchup with the winner of today’s game between Oklahoma and Kentucky. The Bulldogs will square off against the opening-round winner in the second game on Tuesday. Game one is set for 10:30 p.m. ET, meaning the Bulldogs will likely be in action sometime in the early afternoon.

Georgia was the No. 7 seed in last season’s NCAA tournament and hosted both the regional and super regional. The Bulldogs went undefeated in its regional, which included Georgia Tech, Army, and UNC-Wilmington. They hosted NC State in the super regional and fell one win short of the College World Series. UGA earned that national seed even after losing its first game in the 2024 SEC Tournament.
