Georgia has added a late piece to the 2026 class in Snellville (Ga.) South Gwinnett linebacker Terrence Penick.

The 6-foot-3, 210-pound linebacker has flipped his commitment from Coastal Carolina to Georgia during the early signing period. Penick committed to Coastal Carolina back on June 24.

The Bulldogs extended an offer to Penick on Sunday. Georgia had been in communication with Penick for much of the fall.

He was in Athens for Georgia’s wins over Ole Miss and Texas. The communication picked up. The offer did not come until Sunday. It was an offer Penick had to consider.

“It definitely has to be considered,” Pennick told DawgsHQ on Monday. “It’s a top program and I’m very appreciative of them to see me as being able to continue that type of tradition of being one of the natural type of players.”

Penick was ecstatic over the weekend after the offer.

“I was honestly shocked because I wasn’t really expecting it,” Penick said. “But now that I’ve got it, I’ve been grinning and smiling all day long. I’m very excited. It’s a great opportunity. So I just got to see where to go from here…  I got to have a sit-down with everybody, sit down with Coach Schumann. And then I also have to have a sit-down with my family, myself, and God. I just have to weigh everything out for the best thing for me at the end of the day.”

Penick is the third linebacker to join Georgia’s 2026 class. The Bulldogs also landed four-star linebacker Nick Abrams.

Georgia flipped three-star Elijah Littlejohn from Penn State two weeks ago.

*Update – Penick has been announced as an official member of Georgia’s 2026 class.
